Sundays are a mixed bag. As an educator/procrastinator, I know that Sunday Funday is iffy, at best. I have been following the same routine forever. I reserve Sunday afternoons for laundry, groceries, lessons plans, grading, and any other chore that I can come up with. It’s a love/hate thing. I hate doing any chores during the week, so I save them all for Sundays, putting them off until the last possible minute; but I love starting the week with a clean slate.
During football season, I love Sunday afternoons. Tripp comes over on Sundays to watch football with us (Bre isn’t a football nut like we are), Scotty usually grills, we ALWAYS make queso, and we spend time sitting together watching God’s team, AKA the Dallas Cowboys, fight it out on the field. Sometimes we come out on top, and some days, like today, we fall short, but every time we are certain it will be our day to win!
The best part about Sunday Funday is that it is a time to catch up with each other on how life is going. There is something about being together that opens up communication in a way that phone calls and texts just don’t. My favorite times in life are when my fab 5 is sitting in my living room, talking and laughing (or yelling at the TV).
Now I’m off to end the day reflecting on just how grateful I am to be right where I am.
Sincerely,
Tara Reed
